Gang Arrested For Forging Govt. Lease Contracts & Papers

The Ajman Police have arrested a gang – comprising an Arab and two Asians – involved in forging leasing contracts and receipts issued from government departments.

Lt Col Al Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, director of Police Criminal Investigation Department, said they received a tip-off about an Arab man, identified as MMG, who provided forged government documents for a certain amount of money.

An investigation team was set up, which swung into action and nabbed the man. He was charged with forging a residential lease as well as electricity and water bills for a sum of Dh2,500. A number of other forged documents were seized from him.

The man confessed to the crime and told the police about his Asian accomplices, who were arrested later by the police. The accused referred to the public prosecution.

Al Nuaimi lauded the efficiency of the police and their efforts to arrest the gang members. He warned against any fraud, distortion or tampering with official documents, while calling on the public not to hesitate to report any person committing such crimes. There will be zero tolerance towards the culprits, Al Nuaimi added.
